ABOUT NICK MAZEROLLE STUDIO

Nick Mazerolle Studio is dedicated to crafting furniture that stands the test of time. Located in Fredericton, NB, my focus is on high-quality construction and conscious design that enhance both aesthetics and functionality.

Inspired by the enduring elegance of midcentury Danish design, I blend organic forms with modern appeal. My furniture is a form of expression, combining function with timeless style.

Every piece is made to order, offering custom, bespoke furniture and smaller scale cabinetry services. I work closely with my clients to ensure their unique needs and desires are met. I proudly ship my creations anywhere in Canada and the United States, creating furniture that not only serves a purpose but also tells a story.

ROOTED IN HONEST craftsmanship AND SUSTAINABILITY

My approach starts with a fundamental belief in honesty—it shapes everything I do, from the design of my furniture to the way I run my business. My pieces are straightforward yet elegant, designed to fit naturally into your space without demanding the spotlight. I believe in transparency and strive for clear, honest communication, reflecting the integrity of my work.

Sustainability is deeply integrated into this philosophy. I take care to use every piece of wood thoughtfully, minimizing waste and maximizing the use of resources. By crafting heirloom-quality furniture built to last generations, my work contributes to sustainable consumption and a reduction in environmental impact.

MY STORY

I fell into furniture making while at a crossroads in my life. After spending my early adulthood studying commerce at University and travelling around playing music, I reached a point where I needed something else to pursue. One day, while flipping through a Fine Woodworking magazine, I stumbled upon an article about Sam Maloof. I was absolutely amazed and blown away with each image that I saw. The artistic nature and ability to express creatively through a functional item is truly what pulled me into the craft.

In 2015, I enrolled in the Fine Woodworking program at Selkirk College in Nelson, BC. This program laid down the foundation of skills while igniting a new passion in me. After school, my partner and I moved back home to the Maritimes, after living several years in British Columbia. I worked throughout New Brunswick with a number of craftspeople and cabinet companies, continuing to build my knowledge and skill set for the craft and industry. In this timeframe, I was blessed to have access to a number of shops for my own projects and began acquiring tools with the ambition to eventually have my own shop to work out of one day.

In 2019, I moved my acquired tools into my first fully dedicated wood shop, a one-car garage located in Fredericton, NB. I still work out of this same shop today and continue to devote myself to the craft.

Outside of woodworking, I am extremely passionate about songwriting and music production and am the founding member of the award-winning dub/reggae group Weak Size Fish. Music and furniture making share so many similarities throughout many steps. They are lifelong passions that I will carry with me to the end of my days.
